In formula form, we define Pressure as equal to Force divided by the Surface Area, P=F/A. From this we can see that pressure is just a fraction with force on top and area on bottom. As force increases, so does the pressure. As the area increases, the pressure decreases, just like 1/2 is bigger than 1/10 because the number on bottom is larger. A good example of pressure might be poking someone with your finger and then poking them with a needle. You can use the same amount of force, but since the surface area is smaller on the pin than your finger you are applying more pressure that can result in breaking skin. Hope that helps!
