Is there a difference between gang-writing and graffiti?

Well, its often a stereotype that "graffiti" connects with gang-related activities and what not. "Gang-writing" specially has an ultimate purpose of "advertising" or provoking an infamous correlation with the gang title itself while graffiti (perhaps referred to as a work of art) simply can be used as a modern way of expressing emotions, ideas, or opinon. Again, none of these HAS to be the extentions of the use of "gang-writing" or "graffiti" however.
