A student can read 150 words in one minute write a function rule to present the relationship between the number of words and the time in which they are read How many words can thE student read in 8 mins How long would I take for the student to read 2,850 words Plz help

hero (hero):

The student can read 150 words in one minute, therefore: let x = the number of minutes the student reads. let f(x) = the total number of words read The student can read 150 words per minute, so multiplying 150 by the number of minutes would give the total number of words read. The expression 150x represents this. It is also equal to what we have defined as f(x). Therefore: f(x) = 150x Replacing 2,850 (the number of words the student has read) with f(x) gives: 2,850 = 150x Solving for x gives: 2,850/150 = x 19 = x Since x = the number of minutes the student has read, x = 19 means that the student has read 2,850 words in 19 minutes.
