Write an original poem. Your goal is to continue connecting “Romeo and Juliet” with the song you chose for Part A of this assignment. Now you are going to be the songwriter, or poet, and create your own song or poem. Your original poem should continue to explore your thoughts on the similarities between “Romeo and Juliet” and the song you chose. If the characters of both were similar, you can create two more characters that have those similarities as well. If the main idea or theme was similar, your poem can have that same main idea or theme too. Your poem should be between 10-20 lines.

Mercy Ministries is a ministry that helps young girls and I eally love it so I made this for them and their "motto" is "lives transformed hope restored." It's b-e-a-utiful. Another dark night alone, on her bathroom floor, she’s stoned she’s only 16 but the she’s lost all hope she’s cried out; but the reply is always the same She’s been used for 8 years now Nothing she hasn’t seen She was ready to be the captive set free Now she knows this is her life she’s reached for the knife she thinks she deserves this pain that the shame is here to stay the scar on her arm is a daily reminder of her past and all her hurt This blade has captured her she thinks she can’t let go her heart is numb she wants to let her life go lunchtime rolls around, what’s her excuse today she’s tired of living this way thinking up something new to say This habit is here she’s embraced it tight how to let go? she still doesn’t know sold at the tender age of 8 to the man across the street used for sex traded by bets now she’s 19 Her life was lost she had a cost never alone, she wishes she’d disappear scared to let go, scared to hold on alone, she isn’t that strong but morning will come and out with the sun a new beginning has begun The addictions can be stopped lay her need at the foot of the cross self-harm and suicide the pain that shows on the outside is no longer on the inside healed and restored, set free and re-born his blood has cleansed hers eating disorders are broken she’s made beautiful through his death The little girl is priceless despite what she believed no person can own her made for more than sleeping around the walls around her heart are slowly being torn down Beautiful young women, made for so much more found their life through the might power of Jesus Christ, transformed Their hope-- restored!! -Rebecca Kelly
