factorize : X^2-4x+3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(x -1)(x-3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the key is to look at the number next to the x^2 its 1 so both x's in the brackets have 1 next to them to make the 1x^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then look at the 3 , the numbers in the brackets have to times together to get 3

OpenStudy (nottim):

If factorize it what I think it means, Eigen is correct. The 2 values there must add to the middle number of the trinomial, and multiply to the last value.

aha ,ty guys

and then the number next to the x, -4 , has to be the sum of the numbers in the brackets

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-3 x -1 = 3 , and -3 + (-1) = -4
