Can anyone suggest some good argument essay topics? I started writing one about how having a community center could encourage kids to exercise more and that could help decrease their chance of getting diabetes, but I'm not really excited about the topic and I think I'd be able to write better if I was. I uploaded the doc anyway so let me know what you think :P

That's fine and dandy but if it's an argument; there is evidence of community centers helping kids stay active. If your in highschool you could write about this and get away with it and end up with an A. If your in college find a new topic. Either way, here are some better topics I would recommend. "Is religion evil? No says history!" Argue that there is a direct connection between every powerful country in the world and religion. Argue that every country who abolished religion is considered bad or has fallen apart. Pro Religion: USA, France, England, Dubai, and any countries you can think of. (All these places are considered wealthy and have religion) Had no religion and failed/bad: The USSR was lead by Stalin, who abolished religion and replaced god with himself. The USSR was a terrible place for the people and it was considered evil under the rule of Stalin. North Korea has it's supreme leader (Kim Jong-il, now Kim Jong-un) who replaces god. North Korea is a terrible place to live and is considered "evil". If you need more, check out some African countries who's leaders have replaced religion. [I have no affiliation with any religion, I don't really care for any of that. It's just a really interesting topic that I'm positive no one in your class has thought of. Do it well and you'll get an A.]

*there is NO evidence....

Thank you so much! This sounds like an awesome topic (and you're probably right, no one would've thought of it) Thanks again!!

Side not, In the paper your weakpoint will be "Oh yeah, well what about how evil religion is during the crusades, the spanish inquisition etc." to that you have to say "Yes, but those where all orders given by a leader, not the belief." Also say "and guess what, the countries/groups who did those things where very powerful!" Don't sidetrack, make sure your topic is clear that all your arguing is that countries with religion are 'betterpowerful/ than countries without.

OpenStudy (lifeisadangerousgame):

I'm not sure what yo mean :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What I mean is, don't be naive on your paper. Make sure you don't over-generalize. Religion has done very evil things. All we want to prove in your paper is that countries who support religion are better than countries who don't.

OpenStudy (lifeisadangerousgame):

ohh, I see. Do you think I'll need statistics or anything besides what countries prosper from supporting religions?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Make sure when you talk about pro religion countries you cite from somewhere (wikipedia) that their economies are doing well/better than those without religion and the people are not starving. Same goes for the non-religious countries, cite from somewhere how people in the USSR where flopping over dead because of starvation and how in Norht Korea they are waiting on the USA to give them food. (Google that, it's interesting.) No statistics necessary, just compare.

Mmm, ok! Thank you!
