OpenStudy (callisto):

I can't see my older posts and it just shows 'loading more..' for a long time without responding using Google Chrome and IE

OpenStudy (callisto):

OpenStudy (farmdawgnation):

Hey man, thanks for posting this. Is there any chance that it goes away after awhile and the questions finally show up?

OpenStudy (farmdawgnation):

Also, if you're willing to do some tinkering around to get me more information about what is going wrong, let me know.

OpenStudy (callisto):

But how?

OpenStudy (farmdawgnation):

Well, we need to see if there are errors on the Javascript Console. So in chrome do the following: 1. Go to your profile page. 2. Click the wrench in the top right of the window. 3. Go to Tools -> Javascript Console 4. The console will appear in the bottom half of Chrome. 5. Try to scroll down to the bottom of the list of questions with the console open. 6. Take a screen shot.

OpenStudy (callisto):

Like this?

OpenStudy (farmdawgnation):

Hm. Close. Click the console tab in the bottom pane.

OpenStudy (callisto):

OpenStudy (farmdawgnation):

Yup.

OpenStudy (callisto):

BTW, IE is getting better now, at least it shows me the questions asked a month ago with 'loading more'

OpenStudy (farmdawgnation):

Now go try to scroll down to your old question on your profile with that open.

OpenStudy (callisto):

Nah?!, it works..

OpenStudy (farmdawgnation):

:\

OpenStudy (farmdawgnation):

Well, that is annoying.

OpenStudy (callisto):

Without opening that.. it doesn't work anymore :S

OpenStudy (farmdawgnation):

O.O

OpenStudy (farmdawgnation):

@shadowfiend and @mattfeury you guys might want to look at this for maximum weird.

OpenStudy (callisto):

even I open that, it doesn't work that well anymore

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hey, why am I not shown online??

OpenStudy (callisto):

Problem #2: Cannot see Math as Tex Commands

OpenStudy (farmdawgnation):

Thanks!

OpenStudy (callisto):

Problem #3 I've been showing as Level 0 for math group about twice this morning (It's 12:05pm right now) But I forgot to take a screen shot. Note: it's not a problem now

OpenStudy (farmdawgnation):

o.O You've got all sorts of weirdness going on.

OpenStudy (farmdawgnation):

If you have any extensions enabled for Chrome try turning them off.

OpenStudy (callisto):

But how? (Sorry, I'm a 'computer idiot')

OpenStudy (callisto):

Problem #4 Sometimes, I can't see the things typed in latex. like that But after refreshing the page, it's not a problem anymore (This may not be counted as a problem though)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To Close Extension For Chrome Click on the wrench under the X(Close Window), Then click on background pages, now it should open a new window, on the window there are all the extensions you have to Google Chrome, if there are any unnecessary ones just click on the extension and then click end process. Note: All the extensions have Extension:(name of extension) Try not to end any other processes as it might disrupt the Google Chrome currently opened

OpenStudy (callisto):

It is like this, what should I do?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so your only extension is siteadvisor

OpenStudy (anonymous):

click on it and then click end process, when you restart chrome (open a new window) this extension will come back

OpenStudy (callisto):

And what should I do then?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

basically while you have ended the process it will go faster, but when you restart it will go a bit slower again because its on again

OpenStudy (callisto):

So, I can do nothing at all?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

about what?

OpenStudy (callisto):

to solve / relieve the problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well by following the procedure i have given you can make it faster by a bit, moreover you should ask the devs they are already introduced in the current post so they are probably on your case already

OpenStudy (callisto):

So, I'll have to wait. Thank you :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry I cant assist more, but my knowledge and power on this site is limited

OpenStudy (callisto):

No sorry please. At least I've learnt something from you! Thank you so much!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nae Problem As Long Its A Contribution

OpenStudy (callisto):

Problem#5 Quite often, it suddenly goes like this, which rarely happens to the other websites

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm thinking this might be a chrome thing, as i have encountered the same problem countless times, but each time OS was open, never happened without OS .

OpenStudy (farmdawgnation):

Sorry, we've had a long week so I took the day off from monitoring OpenStudy Feedback. heh. Really the idea was the see if disabling the extension fixed the issue. :\

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Everyone needs a break dude, no needs for sorry

OpenStudy (callisto):

^ couldn't agree more!!! NO SORRY PLEASE!!!!

OpenStudy (farmdawgnation):

Callisto: Is there any chance you can give me some detail specs on your machine? How old is it? If you know any more details (processor speed, etc) I'd love to know those as well.

OpenStudy (callisto):

I bought it last year, not more than a year. How can I check all those details?

OpenStudy (farmdawgnation):

You should be able to go to Control Panel (which should be in your start menu) and click "System" somewhere, and find a screen that looks like this: http://cdn.blogsdna.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/window-7-system-information.png Of particular interest to me are the values you have for "Processor" and "Memory".

OpenStudy (farmdawgnation):

Click "View the amount of RAM and processor speed"

OpenStudy (farmdawgnation):

Ok, then you should be good on that front. :\ I'll keep racking my brain.

OpenStudy (callisto):

Sorry for causing tons of troubles :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Same was my case. But probably , its some connectivity error related with open study. Dont have much details , sorry !

OpenStudy (callisto):

@farmdawgnation The 'loading more' problem still exist (for both chrome and IE), so I used the 'method' you told me, I meant the JavaScript console. Then I discovered few more lines . Don't know if it helps

OpenStudy (farmdawgnation):

Thanks for sending those details. Unfortunately, those messages all look A-OK. Do you have issues with the autoloader in groups?

OpenStudy (callisto):

Sorry, but what do you mean?

OpenStudy (callisto):

The loading more problem :|

OpenStudy (callisto):

The question answered part 'contaminated' with question asked :| Sorry for bring so much trouble ! :(

OpenStudy (farmdawgnation):
