Help me out with these 2 word problems? 1: In an urn there are 17 numbered discs. 8 are red, 5 are white, and 4 are blue. How many ways can 2 red, 1 white and 2 blue discs be chosen? 2: A license plate consists of 7-digits: an number, followed by a letter excluding I and O, followed by 5 numbers. How many different license plates are there? I suck at these... :(

For #2: We have 11 possibilities for the first digit (if you include zero?), 24 letters for the second digit, and then 11 possibilities for the next 5. Multiplying all of these together we have 11*24*11*11*11*11*11, or 11^6*24. Replace all of the 11's with 10's if you exclude the 0 from the license plate.

Sorry.. my mistake, all the 11's should be 10's, and the 10 should be a 9. My mistake in counting :$.

Thank you so much! :)
