OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

i dont know i am sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hm ok bro il try to wrk it out..thnks fr urhlp

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

does x have to be at least 15 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont get that part how do we get the value of x if y is unknown.

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

y<80

OpenStudy (anonymous):

UnkleRhaukus the answer states that x= 15 and y = 20, now can u explain me how to get it?

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

i think y = (S U F)'

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i knw i am not sure abut the C) part

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

oh ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok: the least posible value of x is 15, becouse 80+35 = 115 and that's not posible. So at least 15 students have to study bouth languaje. Now, since the y set is biggest when x is biggest, the only posibility is that all the students of French are also students of Spanish, it means x = 35. In this case y = 20

OpenStudy (anonymous):

got it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@thushananth01

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y part i dont undrstnd?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the picture is a litle missleading, becouse bouth sets are painted same size, but actualy the F is much smaller. So it can fit inside de S set. In this case x = F and F is included in S. So y =C( S). (C stands for complement)
