A constant force F = 3.0+3.3jN acts on an object as it moves along a straight line path. If the objecxts displacement is d=1.6i+4.2jm, calculate the work done by F using these alternative ways of writing the dot product. W=Fxdx+Fydy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Does this involve using integration since it is in terms of dx and dy?

OpenStudy (experimentx):

don't think so.

OpenStudy (experimentx):

just take a dot product. That involving integration gives force as function and does not provide displacement ... so we assume it to be infinitesimal displacement dy and dx. but here rather value is given.

Oh okay. I get it now, thanks.
