A liver enzyme that uses ATP to catalyze the phosphorylation of glucose to glucose-6-phosphate during glycogenesis

Heena is correct. The enzyme is also know as hexokinase.

Any kinase enzyme is a phosphorylating enzyme. i.e. it adds a phosphate group to its substrate. v.v important in determining when a cell divides in conjunction with CKD's but glucokinase is a liver enzyme for production of glycogen
