Ovary – fallopian tube – uterus The ovary releases mature eggs into the oviducts/fallopian tube. the egg is usually fertilised in the oviduct. If fertilisation occurs, the embryo is embeded to the wall of the uterus and in the uterus the unborn baby develops. If fertilisation does not take place, the endometrium is broken down and menstruation starts.
