There are 52 cards in a deck. 13 out of the 52 are hearts. Therefore there is a 1 / 4 opportunity for the selected card to be a heart. A) Mike's expectation (if he is sane) would be that he will have to give Dave $2 because he has a small chance of getting a heart. B) Dave's expectation would be that he will get $5 because he has a 3/4 chance of being right
