Solve sin^-1(sin(2pi/3))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

pi/3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

range of sin^-1 is -90degrees to 90 degrees.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2pi/3 is not in the range...

OpenStudy (experimentx):

Oo ... i got confused by my short sweet method!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep, this always gets me... but not this time!!!

OpenStudy (experimentx):

@dpalnc i'll never fall for that again 3pi/2 > 1 ... didn't think

OpenStudy (experimentx):

@dpalnc actually 2pi/3 works if you think in classical way.. lol 2pi/3 = pi - pi/3

@ asker... in order to get a 1-1 function for the invers of sine, the domaion has to be restricted to -pi/2 to pi/2. i.e., the answers you'll get (the range) for sine inverse are between -pi/2 to pi/2... |dw:1333829950564:dw|
