solving a system with graphing 8x-9y=-54 8x=9y-54

hero (hero):

Whenever you have two linear equations with the same numbers like that, you should see if you can try to re-write either one in terms of the other. The fact that I can re-write 8x-9y = -54 and end up with 8x = 9x - 54 tells me that both equations are the same.

So basically, you have a situation where no matter what (x,y) you choose that is on the first line, that solution will work for the second line as well.

hero (hero):

Let me re-state that: no matter what (x,y) points you find that is a solution to the first equation, those same (x,y) points will work for the second equation. Meaning, the number of solutions to this system is infinite.
