There are about 6 billion people on Earth. If they all lined up and held hands, how long of a line would they form in km? (Assume each person is 1 meter apart.)
Assume that there is 1 meter between each person? or each person's span is 1 meter?
6 billion -1 meter
1 meter apart i think
Man, that turned out to be wrong
What is wrong?
the answer.
1 000 000 000 000 is bilion
oh oops XD if each person is separated by a distance of 1 meter, you would need to know the distance of each person's width. But if 1 meter represents the total distance from left fingertips to right fingertips, myko is correct. 6 billion meters - 1 meter = 599,999,999,999 meters * 1km/1000meters = 599,999,999.999km
right
haha wombat fail XD
I don't know what its asking then because that says its wrong too
If that is wrong, then maybe they mean that there is one meter separating two people, not accounting for the width of their bodies. In this case, you would need the body width to solve...
So are you saying in that instance, it can't be solved?
How many meters would a line of three people with spacing of 1 meter between each? think about it.
Well, if that is all the information given, then I think it is unsolvable.. However, it all depends on what they mean by 1 meter apart
radar, doesnen't it depend on how wide the person is
I guess that is why you are subtracting the 1 meter "hand slapping forehead" Yes, that would come into play the width of the person, I guess you would assume some reasonable average figure.
If they do not provide you with a width of the person and the 1 meter represents the distance BETWEEN each person, it is not solvable.
6,000,000,000 - 1=5,999,999,999 meters for km 5,999,999.999
Ignoring the width of individuals. lol
Its still wrong
I guess i'll have to email my professor
