Multiply. Write the answer in scientific notation. (5 × 103)(6 × 104)

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

(5 * 10^3) (60 * 10^3) 60*5 ( 10^3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

10^3 and 10^4? you mean?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes :) (5 × 10^(3))(6 × 10^(4))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(5 × 10^3)(6 × 10^4) = 30 x 10^7 Move the decimal point over to the left and that will raise the exponent by one power. 3.0 x 10^8

thanks!! :)
