Hi Girlinthemirror, I guess it depends on what you consider a success or a failure. For example, during a ten year period, Napoleon and his French Empire warred with nearly every European power. Even today his efforts are studied by military academies all over the world because (for a time) he was so successful. France was eventually invaded and he was exiled - he did return to power for a while but suffered his biggest defeat at the now infamous Battle of Waterloo in 1815. He spent the last several years of his life in a British prison where he eventually died. Does this help?
