What would your thesis statement be if your topic is about the Egyptian Rossetta stone findings in 1799?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it depends on what aspect of the stone itself you're are talking about or your point

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The writtings of the rossetta stone

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What point do you want to make?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what about the writings?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A specific part in the writings or something they say.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

basically what they writings say and who found the writings.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There were three languages in the Rosetta Stone, Normal Egyptian, Greek, and hieroglyphics. This was in order for (Greek) Government, (Common) Egyptians, and (Religious) scholars to all be able to read the stone. What do you want to prove/theorize about?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, what is your point? What are you trying to get across to your readers?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

umm yeah not quite sure. any suggestions?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm assuming you want us to make a thesis statment for you. Here's a topic you could work off of: "The rosetta stone represents a cultural balance in Ancient Egypt"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Or better yet; "The Rosetta Stone is a symbol of defeat by the greeks in a major cultural war" Then write about how the greeks and egyptians were so different in every way, wrting, intelligence, style, art etc, and it would seem impossible for them to come together but the Stone proves it can happen. You'd have to do some research!
