A. coach Johnson should measurement the field to the nearest kilometer. b. should measurement the field to the nearest mile. c. should measurement the field to the nearest foot. d. should measurement the field to the nearest yard

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it is D

hero (hero):

We know the field is measured in Yards, but that doesn't necessarily mean that yards in the most precise measurement.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so ur tryin to say its C???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok but in Football u play in yards

hero (hero):

Yes, I agree, however, to get precise measurements, I was thinking to myself feet would probably be more precise than yards.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So.... ur sayin C

hero (hero):

I would pick C, yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In foot?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Whyy???

hero (hero):

Yes, but you should probably wait on a second opinion. Preferably from @satellite73 @dumbcow @amistre64 @Directrix

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to the nearest foot would be 3 times more accurate than the nearest yard

hero (hero):

I looked this up not to long ago: A measurement in a smaller unit is usually more precise than one in a larger unit.

hero (hero):

My original conclusion to use the foot measurement was based on just instinct. It makes sense to use the smaller unit if you want more accurate measurements. If you used yards only to make the measurement, there's a chance that you could accidently over-measure or round to the nearest yard, which wouldn't be as accurate.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

each option says "to the nearest" otherwise they would all have the same accuracy

hero (hero):

Measuring the the nearest foot is more accurate than measuring to the nearest yard since feet is the smaller unit.

Directrix (directrix):

c. should measurement the field to the nearest foot.
