The speed of sound in water is 1.46 x 10^3 meters per second. The speed of sound in air is 3.31 x 10^2 meters per second. How much faster does sound travel in water than in air?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3.31 x 10^2 - 1.46 x 10^3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so subtract 1.46 from 3.31 and then the exponents ?

OpenStudy (nottim):

no...i don't think so. Just do exactly as cuddlepony says.
