I'm trying to solve the DE for a very simple RL circuit (where one has been given a value for the inductor (L), resistance (R), and voltage at a certain point in time [E(t)]). However, I'm confused. We're supposed to determine the max current in the circuit. Now, as far as I understand it, I use the formula LI'+RI=E(t). After plugging in the given values, I then take the ol' integrating factor route. From I gather, at this point, magic happens and you have the answer (thus, my confusion). My question, do I treat this problem as any other integrating factor problem?
