Getting the mail from the mailbox, the mailbox has an odd shape, some are curved at the top. That curve may be used so rain goes down easier. Mailboxes are also rectangular. The important part of the mailbox would be the rectangular part, because it can't be too small that no mail perfectly flat can fit into it.
