If anyone knows A&P, please help because I dont get this at all. :( Amylase is now frequently prepared with lactose or other sugars as extenders. Determine which experiments would give erroneous results if contaminated amylase were used...

So....determine which experiments would give bad/wrong results if contaminated amylase was used.... i just dont get what it means by experiments...anyone?

Well the book (very briefly) mentions a few experiments. Experiment 1:The reagent test- iodine. Experiment 2: determination of starch digestion by amylase. Experiment 3:Reagent test-benedicts test. Experiment 4: determination of sugar(maltose) production by amylase. Experiment 5: Determination of sugar production from cellulose. Experiment 6: Reagent test-litmus test.Ex 7: Determination of lipid digestion by pancretin. Ex. 8: Determination of protein digestion by pancreatin. Ex 9: Surface area and digestion.

Now, you think i would be able to use those, but they dont have any description, just mentions. >.< Very irritating.

That's odd. Well, contaminated amylase would give you false positives; any experiment that requires it would potentially give erroneous results then? Without much more to go off of, I guess you could definitely say 2 and 4, though apart from that I guess you can't really be too sure. Sorry!
