A fern grows sporangia under its fronds. What is the next step in its life cycle? Choices : Mitosis Gametophyte Gametes Spores

gametes I believe. Either Gametes or Gametophytes. I know is not mitosis cause mitosis means seperation and spores it completely different thing

Hey there, I'd go with spores. Sporangia are specialized reproductive structures which release spores. These spores then form (through mitosis) the gametophyte stage of the fern. Gametophyte, as its name implies, produces your gametangia which produce gametes. The fusion of the gametes and resulting growth produces the sporophyte stage. Sporangia are produced by the sporophyte to distribute spores.
