A cell phone company orders 500 new phones from a manufacturer. If the probability of a phone being defective is 2.6%, predict how many of the phones are likely to be defective. Round to the nearest whole number.
Type this into google and an HTML cache website will pop up, open it and the answer is there. CA?
500 times 0.026
First turn 2.6% into a decimal which is 0.026 then times by 500 too get.... ? do you know the answer?
13?
yup!! well done, 13 phones will be defective. Better to know how to do the problem then just googling it, right? :)
yup!
by the way, i don't know if you know but an easy way of remembering how to turn percentages into decimals is you just move the dot (.) two places to the left, so 50.00% = .5 , 25% = .25, 3.78% = .0378 Cool!!
oh yea i kno! ! thx anyway!
Ok :D no probs
