Hi Furan143 Furans are highly toxic, probably carcinogenic aromatic organic compounds that are frequently used in industrial chemicals because they are soluble in common solvents but not in water. They can also be byproducts from industrial processes, and are part of a group of chemicals called persistent organic pollutants (POPs) along with dioxins and PCBs - compounds that bioaccumulate in the environment.
