frogs jump

Well it would have to accelerate for a period of time which would be one equation. Then it would remain at constant velocity for a while. Then decelerate for a period of time. That's 3 functions, which can be put together piecewise.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

since we are speaking in terms of position; and not really velcoity of acceleration; these would simply map the position of the elevator as it moves from floor to floor thru time

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how would i descripe it in an equation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*describe

OpenStudy (amistre64):

piecewise of course :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:( I'm confused

OpenStudy (amistre64):

since the "function" changes shape thru time; you define what the function would look like for each given interval where it "acts" the same in

OpenStudy (amistre64):

as it moves between floors; it either has a postive slope if moving up; or a negative slope of moving down; and while its waiting at a floor its just a horisontal line
