How would you simplify this? sinTheta cos theta /tan theta

OpenStudy (diyadiya):

\[\large \frac{\sin \theta \cos \theta}{ \frac{\sin \theta }{\cos \theta }}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

btw, we are doing identities right now.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[{\sin \theta \cos \theta \over \tan \theta} = {\sin \theta \cos \theta \over {\sin \theta \over \cos \theta}}\]

OpenStudy (diyadiya):

since \[\tan \theta = \frac{\sin \theta }{\cos \theta }\]

OpenStudy (diyadiya):

\[\large \frac{\sin \theta \cos \theta*\cos \theta }{\sin \theta }= \cos^2 \theta \]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh so you factor out the sin theta

OpenStudy (diyadiya):

Yes \[\large \frac{\cancel{\sin \theta} \cos \theta*\cos \theta }{\cancel {\sin \theta }}= \cos^2 \theta\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok. that makes sense. Thank you:)

OpenStudy (diyadiya):

Anytime ^_^
