For the function y = -2+5 (pi/12 (x-2)), what is the minimum value?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Differentiate the function and set equal to zero. The values you obtain will be a local max or min. If it's a local max, then calculate the second derivative (derivative of the derivative). If f''(critical)>0 critical point is a min. and opposite for <0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It appears this is a linear equation, there isn't a minimum value as the domain of y is (-inf, inf) and the range is (-inf, inf)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that is not helpful it is asking for a number so that is not right! but thank you for trying

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is there supposed to be a trigonometric function in the equation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im not to sure but it says general transformations of a periodic graph as the title quiz

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Probably is. maybe sin(x) or cos(x) or tan(x)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nope i got it.. it is -7 but thanx again =)
