What wasn't a major influence for modernist writers great depression World war 1 world war 2 I'm leaning more towards ww2
What defines "modernist writers"? The Greet Depression started 1929...WWI ended about 1919ish and WWII was 1945...
1920's through 1940's is what we're going over
Hmm... that encompasses all of them... I would guess WWI or WWII
but you would think that ww1 would weight pretty heavy on the writing because they had just ended it and then ww2 is starting but theyve already been through it so maybe its not as bad?
Well WWI was bad, but the emotional aspects connected with WWII were very strong because people were not looking forward to another massive war. WWII was started with antiwar feelings in society so people were already opposed to it. The Great Depression caused economic difficulties and those ALWAYS effect the arts in the time period. So its a 50-50 between WWI or WWII. From my perspective, WWII was more devastating because of the newer technologies so I would say WWI had the least effect. But that's just me...
WW2 brought them out of the depresstion
