2. A plane flies 630 miles with the wind in the same time that it takes to fly 455 miles against the wind. If this plane flies at the rate of 217 mph in still air, what is the speed of the wind?

For this one we use a variation of the time-speed-distance formula. In this case, let t=d/s, so\[t=\frac{630}{217+w}=\frac{455}{217-w}\]
Note that time is the same in either case. You can cross multiply from here and solve in a straightforward manner.
