Given three bowls: 7, 4 and 3 liters capacity. Only the 7-liter capacity is full. Pouring the water the fewest number of times, make the quantities of 2,2 and 3 liters.

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

okay simple enough. first pour from the 7 liter bowl into the 3 liter bowl till its full. so we have 3 in one and 4 left in the 7 liter bowl. now pour from the same 7 liter bowl into the 2 bowl till that one is full. so now you have 2 left in the 7 liter bowl, and ofcourse 2 in the 2 liter bowl. Now. Now what??? Its over!! the 7 liter bowl has 2 liters, the 3 liter bowl has 3 liters and the 2 liter bowl has 2 as well. (with the 2 and 3 liter bowls being full). Enjoy!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hey @apoorvk there's no 2 liter bowl !!.. when you've poured all 4 liters from the bowl of 7 . into the bowl of 4 liters there's no more water in the bowls 7 liters, but you still have 2 !! how come ? O_O

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@apoorvk theres no 2 liter bowl

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

Sorry sorry.. am sorry!!! I have the new answer.. i misread the question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have a solution. .. I'll write the capacity of bowls here.. so the rest that I'll write, it's going to be the ex-change: bowls are: 7 4 3 with liters are: 7 0 0 4 0 3 4 3 0 1 3 3 1 4 2 5 0 2 5 2 0 2 2 3 that's it !

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@cuty_shai2000 am I right? :)

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

i was going to upload a scan. but kresnik did it already the same way!!! do i need to upload? kudos kresnik.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you have your answer, but lets wait if there's another answer. the fewer number of times

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@apoorvk It doesn't matter who UPLOADS it first.. it matters if you know it or not :) ... and yes, upload it :)

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

okay i am doing it. and i think i "may" have found a shorter way. lets see... :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok. LET'S RACE :p

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol i think you're enjoying it :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no doubt, the Only problem is: I'M struggling finding a shorter solution lol uhauha...

OpenStudy (radar):

If the 7 liter container was filled with beer, I could do it in 32 moves. lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm out , have to go .. brb

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

Okay I can't seem to find anything shorter. :( only longer methods :/ lets see.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How about 7 0 0 3 4 0 3 1 3 6 1 0 6 0 1 2 4 1 2 2 3

OpenStudy (radar):

6 vs 7 it is shorter.

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

WHY DO I ALWAYS GET LATE AND THE OTHERS DO IT BEFORE ME?? @siddhantsharan genius!!! one step less!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Haha. Trial And Error. Lets see if it can get Even Shorter.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Apporv- Not too far you were mannn!! And This May Not be the shortest

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

Won't be anymore. I seem to have checked out every possible start.

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

Siddharth, haha I was too far, when I started to type my thing, you had already finished, even though you started later.. kudos man!

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

*sorry Siddhant!
