x-2y=-2 y=-3x+8 solve by substituiton

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So you have to substitute: \[y = -3x + 8\] back into the first equation so it will look like this: \[x - 2 (-3x + 8) = -2\] now why don't you try solving for x and i'll check it, don't forget to times 2 by both (-3x) and (+8).

y=2 & x=2 ?
