westside price = 98 per hour pinewood = 115 per hour

call westside hours w , and pinewood hours p

total hours = w + p = 16
p = (16 - w)

now the cost is the number of hours multiplied by the hourly fee:

at westside cost = 98w
at pinewood cost = 115p

but we know p = 16 - w

so pinewood cost = 115(16 - w)

total cost = 115(16 - w) + 98w = 1840 - 115w + 98w = 1840 - 17w
