A thank you note. When giving a speech you are trying, in essence, to motivate your crowd to a certain goal. (I.e "I have a dream!") When giving a review of something you are enforcing your opinion in the hopes that soemone will agree with you. Or that they will go or not go see a movie that you reviewed. A thank you note on the other hand, is simply..."Hey, thanks!"
