Does arcsin x represent the inverse sine function? Can anyone help me with this? I thought 'arc' meant 'inverse'. Am I right? Is this question true? Thanks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

arcsin is the inverse of the sin function arcsin(sin(x))=sin(arcsin(x))=x
