Can someone help me analyze this quote by Jane Austin. too much I am afraid; for what becomes of the moral, if our comfort springs from a breach of promise.

What is she even saying? What statement on life could one get through it?

Hmm, I THINK she means that she's afraid what will happen to morals if we make sure we are comfortable with what we're doing (like making sure it benefits us first) before we do our promise, I'm not sure though..

OpenStudy (lifeisadangerousgame):

Or like what happens if we break a promise because it doesn't benefit us. Breach means to break and comfort ( In this case I think) means benefit
