The maximum gauge pressure in a hydraulic lift is 17.0 atm. What is the largest size vehicle (kg) it can lift if the diameter of the output line is 28.0 cm Can someone please help me with the steps to solve this? I'm not even sure what formula to use. p=(m/v)??? o.O.....I really do appretiate everyone helping me!

I'll give you a hint. Pressure is defined as\[P = {F \over A}\]We know the pressure and the area.

|dw:1334307557696:dw| pressure times area will give you maximum force possible and that force can lift a body of weight =max force...hence calculate weight and hence mass
