Hey all, Apologies if this question has already been answered, but are there future plans to open up new groups? In the biology section, we get a few earth science questions (not that I'm complaining - we do our best to help!) because there doesn't seem to be a dedicated earth science section. I'm just curious as to why that is. Thanks!
as of now 'create a new group" option is crrentyly unavailable so the site can focus on the main groups like bio, math, chemistry, writing, physics, etc.

Ah I see. Thanks!
Definitely a good point. The lack of an earth / climate science group has come up in the Feedback forum before. Igbasallote is correct: it is impossible to make new groups at the moment. This has not always been the case - before, there were too many diverse groups and users weren't being connected with other users with essentially the same interests. We do seem to be having rather a lot of Earth Science questions in biology at the moment. It's odd how subjects seem to go through phases in that group - in October it was molecules and proteins, in December it was genetics and Punnett Squares, in January and February it was physiology and now it is shifting toward ecology. I'd be quite interested in getting a calendar for the major, nation wide biology programs like the AP curriculum and seeing whether subject changes in bio correspond to unit changes. Earth and climate science don't fit well anywhere; however, I think they fit least worst in biology as they do affect ecosystems. I don't know much about it myself and am learning, or relearning what I once knew and forgot, from all the questions.
