If tan x = .67, what is cot x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Solve for x in tan x = .67 then plug in x in cot x.

It's not that hard to do. It's the same with the last problem you post.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do you solve for x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You try to cancel the tan from the left side. The only way to do that is by multiplying out arctan or tan^-1 which is the same thing. Remember what you do to one side you also have to do to the other so when you arctan the left side you also arctan the right side. tan x = .67 arctan * tan x = arctan .67 x = arctan .67
