14/3z=5/4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cross multiply..you'll get 5(3z) = 14(4) now isolate z by dividing both sides by 15 (the coefficient of z) z = 14(4)/(15) can you do it from here?

kinda lost

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

your goal is to get z..to get it you must isolate it..you cant do it if it's in the denominator so put it in the denominator by multiplying both sides by 3z (14/3z)3z = (5/4)3z the z on the left side is canceled out... 14 = 5(3z)/4 now multiply both sides by 4 to get rid of the 4 in the right side 14(4) = [5(3z)/4]4 again the 4 gets canceled out 14(4) = 5(3z) now divide both sides by 5 so the 5 in the right side gets canceled out 14(4)/5 = 3z now divide both sides by 3 14(4)/(5)(3) = z 14(4)/15 = z got it? ^_^

yes thanks
