Did the North fight the South because of slavery? Or was it because of economic reasons or possibly some other reason?

The Northern fought the Southern because about slavery and industries. They were mostly arguing about federal rights.

The war was initially fought for political reasons. The Southern states were trying to secede and create their own confederation. The Northern states wanted the US to stay intact and thus launched the war to keep the N and S together. As the war progressed, it became popularized as a "war against slavery" in the North. The North was economically superior with more factories and munitions plants while the South was more agriculturally based.
