a 3.0m deep swimming pool measures 25m by 15m. it is filled with fresh water. what force does the water exert on the bottom of the pool?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

equations i used were Pressure = Pressure intial + density* gravity*height to find Pressure then i used Pressure= F/A since A is the area i did (25 *16)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i mean 25*15

OpenStudy (experimentx):

Seems all right. The force would be the weight of the water.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why?

OpenStudy (experimentx):

|dw:1334369157971:dw| Because water is at the top.
