Describe how African Americans resisted enslavement during colonial times. What were the results of these efforts?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Some enslaved African Americans resisted by staging revolts. The only successful revolt took place in Saint Dominique (modern day Haiti I believe); it was conducted by Tuoissant L'Overture or something. They also tried to do things that slowed production. The result was often more oppression from their white masters.
