Choose the slope-intercept equation of the line that passes through the point (-2, 2) and is parallel to y = 4x + 7.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

d-trix! Sub that point into f(x) = mx + b along with the same slope of that second equation and solve for b.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

An equation that is parallel has the same slope but a different y -int.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If the line (equation) is parallel to y=4x+7 it means that the slope is supposed to be the same. That means y=kx+m where k is 4 and m is unknown.

Petewe beating me to it. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol @petewe im not dtrix im a female lol

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

parallel means same slope. now write a line with that slope, and plug in values if the point through which it passes to find the constant term.

i still dong get it
