Thesis: Sisters are amazing creatures. Hook: My sister may bug me to death and sometimes I’d like to strangle her, but I’ll always love her
but sometimes we have a lot of fun together and we understand each other well; despite our differences, my sister and I have a very close relationship (2). Yes, I have to admit that my ten-year-old sister can be a huge pain. First of all, she is a firm believer that if she asks a question enough times, she’ll eventually get the answer she is looking for. What I mean by that is that she will ask me to play with her, I’ll say no, and she’ll ask again. Repeat, repeat, repeat. She also has this annoying tendency to watch the same movie fifty times in a row. I’m not kidding, I’ve seen Finding Nemo so many times its not even funny anymore! And finally, put lightly, our tastes in music differ greatly. Elaina constantly listens to Hilary Duff and those other pop princesses, while I like The Killers and Third Eye Blind. Needless to say there are often arguments in the car about what CD to play!
Alright, she’s not all bad! We can also have a lot of fun together. First of all, Elaine and I find the same things amusing. While other people may not find tap dancing koala bears funny, we can both laugh our heads off together. Also, we like a lot of the same things. She and I like a lot of the same TV shows, movies and books. I can make a reference to “The One Ring”, house elves, or say “Oy with the poodles already!”, and we can both laugh. Lastly, we can act silly with each other. One of our favorite things to do when mom and dad leave us home alone is crank up Queen’s music and dance around the house. Sometimes I think we scare the dog! (1) Finally, my sister and I understand each other well. We have the most of the same life experiences, so we can usually understand why the other feels a certain way about something. Secondly, Elaina and I think a lot alike. We often start to finish each other’s sentences and know what each other is thinking without having said anything. I can’t say I share that with anyone else. As you can clearly see (3), despite our differences, my sister and I have a very close relationship. We may argue, but we have a lot of fun together, and we understand each other well. We both enjoy the movie Cheaper by the Dozen, and there’s a line in the movie that pretty well sums up my relationship with my sister: “Sometimes I’d like to kill her, but I’d do anything for her, any day.”
