12-x-x2?

OpenStudy (diyadiya):

Write it in the form \[ax^2+bx+c\]\[-x^2-x+12\] Now you should find a number whose sum is -12 and sum is -1

OpenStudy (diyadiya):

Can you find it ?

OpenStudy (bestustar123):

i dont get it, is it -13?

OpenStudy (hoblos):

well the product is (+12) but here that method cant be that easily done because of the negative sign of x2 so the sum may not be ( -1) ! i can solve it this way: 12-x-x2 = 12-4x + 3x - x2 = 4(3-x)+ x(3-x) = (3-x)(4+x)

OpenStudy (bestustar123):

i understand now, thanks for your help :)

OpenStudy (hoblos):

my pleasure XD
