8 times the sum of a number and 5 This implies that we have to find sum of number and 5 and then multiply it by 8 Let the number be x so sum of number and 5= x+5 We have to multiply this whole by 8. So we'll need brackets (x+5) Let's multiply now We get \[\huge 8 \times (x+5)\]
