Can you please explain how to do this? What do I do with the 4 and the 8??? =$7500(1.0075) followed by upper small 4(8) to get $9525.83... I usually multiply the 1.0075x1.0075x1.0075x1.0074 but the (8) is throwing me off

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the 4 and 8 most likely specify rate and time

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that 4(8) is the exponent, so instead of 4 times, multiply it 4(8)=32 times 7500(1.0075)^32

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry I couldn't type it right so I multiply 1.0075 by itself 32 times?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I there a way to do that on a calculator with out typing it 32 times?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats what (1.0075)^4(8) means but (1.0075)^32 looks better your calculator has an x^y function and that's what this is

OpenStudy (anonymous):

should look like: \[x^{y}\] or \[y^{x}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok its on the scienctific one on my pc

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1.2701112243

OpenStudy (anonymous):

on the pc calc you should be able to type 1.0075^32 or 1.0075^(4*8)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you so much

OpenStudy (anonymous):

always glad to help

OpenStudy (anonymous):
